About the role
Site Manager
Key Duties
Ensure the achievement of rearing targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor flock performance, mortality rates, weight, and uniformity to ensure birds meet company and client specifications.
Monitor flock health and performance; analyse production data, review rearing charts, implement corrective actions, and follow recommendations from technical specialists.
Manage and supervise the Parent Rearing team, ensuring all team members are adequately trained on Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain biosecurity, quality assurance, and animal welfare standards, ensuring compliance with biosecurity protocols, QA requirements, audit recommendations, and animal welfare guidelines.
Manage farm assets, equipment, and infrastructure, ensuring machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities are secure, properly maintained, and used in accordance with company procedures.
Control inventory and resource utilisation by allocating feed, conducting stock takes, monitoring consumables, and coordinating requisitions for supplies, repairs, and maintenance to support efficient farm operations.
Person Specifications
Diploma or Degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, or Agriculture.
3–5 years’ experience in breeder farm management, rearing, poultry production, and controlled environment houses, with at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of animal welfare, industry compliance, biosecurity, and occupational health and safety standards.
Ability to prepare production reports and maintain accurate records.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills.
