About the role
Assistant Accountant
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Process invoices, receipts, payments, journals and other accounting transactions.
Perform bank, supplier, debtor and general ledger reconciliations.
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Assist with VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns and compliance requirements.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
Maintain proper filing of financial records and ensure confidentiality.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CIS is an added advantage.
At least 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel, Sage or QuickBooks, and MS Excel.
Knowledge of Zimbabwean tax and statutory requirements is an added advantage.
Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills.
