About the role

  • FMBcapital Holdings Plc c is seeking a Product Manager to support the growth and transformation of its Cards & Payments business across the Group's six markets.
  • Job Title: Product Manager - Cards & Payments - Group
  • Job Location: Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Zambia or Zimbabwe
  • Closing Date: 19 October 2026
  • Reporting to the Head of Products - Cards & Payments, the successful candidate will drive data-led decision-making, performance reporting, product development and market intelligence for card issuing and acquiring.
  • The role will help identify opportunities, improve customer value propositions and enhance profitability across the Group's payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive performance reporting and analytics for card issuing and acquiring.
  • Generate customer insights to improve card usage and top-of-wallet positioning.
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Support business cases for new products and initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments.
  • Develop pricing and profitability models to support sustainable revenue growth.
  • Strengthen relationships with Visa, Mastercard and other industry partners.
  • Support a seamless, customer-centric payments experience across the Group.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • At least five years' experience in Cards & Payments, Product Management, Banking or a related financial services role.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, profitability modelling and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of card issuing, card acquiring, payment schemes and interchange economics.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
