About the role
Business Analyst- Bespoke System Development
Key Responsibilities
A. Business Analysis & Requirements Engineering
- Lead requirements elicitation through workshops, interviews, focus groups, and process mapping sessions.
- Analyse AS-IS and design TO-BE business processes using BPMN and flowcharts.
- Produce high-quality documentation: Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Specification Document (FSD), System Requirements Specification (SRS), and user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
B. User Experience Research (UXR) & Design Support
- Conduct User Experience Research (UXR), including user interviews, surveys, persona development, journey mapping, and usability studies.
- Translate user needs and pain points into intuitive system workflows and wireframes in collaboration with UI/UX designers.
- Validate designs with users to ensure the bespoke system is user-friendly and fit-for-purpose, particularly for Payroll and Pensions users.
- Champion user-centric design principles throughout the SDLC.
C. System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Management
- Manage activities across the full SDLC (Waterfall/Agile-Hybrid) for bespoke system development.
- Work collaboratively with Architects, Developers, and QA teams in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stand-ups.
- Support solution design, data mapping, and integration requirements.
D. System Demos, UAT & Stakeholder Management
- Plan and facilitate system demos/show-and-tell sessions for business stakeholders, product owners, and executive management at key milestones.
- Develop UAT strategy, test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), manage defect triage, and obtain formal sign-off.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication between business and technical teams.
E. Go-Live, Hypercare & Post-Implementation Support
- Lead go-live readiness activities, including training material development, end-user training, and cutover support.
- Provide post go-live hypercare, Level 2 application support, and root cause analysis for issues.
- Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, BBS & Computer Science, BBMIT, or related field (Master’s an advantage).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in bespoke/custom system development; Payroll and Pensions domain experience is mandatory.
- PMI-PBA or IIBA certification (CBAP/CCBA/ECBA) required; Agile/Scrum certification an advantage.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Balsamiq/Figma, and MS Office Suite.
