The City of Harare invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill vacant positions in the Installation and Maintenance Division of the Harare Water Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision of installation, repairs and maintenance of plant and machinery.
• Inspection, diagnosis and correction of failed and malfunctioning plant.
• Supervise and instructing of plant and subcomponents.
• Resolve plant breakdowns and provide necessary repairs.
• Implementation of safety and health standards.
• Completion of daily/weekly/monthly reports.

Requirements

• Relevant Skilled Worker Class 1/2/3/4 Fitting and Turning, Boiler Making or Welder Certificates (Grades 12/11/10) as applicable.
• At least three (3) years post-qualification experience in a mechanical field.
• Ability to operate lathe and milling machine (where applicable).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and circuit diagrams.
• Good knowledge of workshop tools, measuring instruments, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Clean Class 4 driver's licence is an added advantage.
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Shop Engineering is an added advantage.
• Apprentice training and relevant experience will be added advantage.
