About the role

  • Role Overview
  • Participate in the development, implementation and review of policies to promote Zimbabwe’s national brand and image in line with the Ministry’s mandate, Strategic Plan and national development imperatives.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address negative media coverage, public backlash, or reputational threats.
  • Coordinate with Line Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure consistent government messaging.
  • Identify trends, issues and opportunities related to the country’s nation brand and image.
  • Respond to media queries on issues related to national branding and image building.
  • Supervise, coach and counsel subordinates.
  • Requirements & Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications/Media Studies/Public Communication or equivalent.
  • A Master’s degree in the above mentioned field(s) is an added advantage.
  • At least six (6) years experience in the Information Officer or equivalent grade.
  • A thorough understanding of the Ministry’s functions.
  • Knowledge of national development imperatives and aspirations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
