Head Builder/Assistant Site Supervisor

Gegana Construction (Pvt) Ltd is a reputable construction company seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Construction Assistant Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations on its building sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising workers, and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of site workers, artisans, and subcontractors.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings, and ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
• Monitor construction progress against the project programme and report delays or variances to management.
• Enforce health and safety standards on site and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Oversee quality control of materials and workmanship at each stage of construction.
• Manage site records, including daily site diaries, attendance registers, and material usage logs.
• Liaise with the Site Agent, Quantity Surveyor, and Project Manager on site requirements, material requisitions, and progress reporting.
• Ensure proper use, care, and security of tools, equipment, and materials on site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Design and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for new projects.
• Strong Stock Management Control background.

Requirements

• Builder Class 1 Certificate (mandatory).
• A National Diploma or Certificate in Construction/Building Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Above 5 years' relevant experience in construction site supervision, at least 2 of which in a supervisory capacity.
• Sound knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and site safety practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and bills of quantities.
• A valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
• Clean class 4 record with no history of workplace misconduct.
