About the role

The Macroeconomic & Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) is inviting applications from qualified professionals from its member countries for three managerial positions at its Secretariat in Harare, Zimbabwe.

  • Job Title: Human Resources Manager, Information Technology Manager, Programme Manager - Sovereign Asset Management (3 Positions)
  • Job Location: Harare, Zimbabwe
  • Closing Date: 23 October 2026 at 16:30 hours
  • Work Format: On-site
  • Contract: Three-year fixed-term contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance

The vacancies are part of MEFMI's mission to build macroeconomic, sovereign debt and financial sector management capacity across Eastern and Southern Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align human resource planning and talent requirements with MEFMI's strategic priorities.
  • Strengthen performance management, accountability and productivity.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, recruitment, onboarding, staff development and retention.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and systems.
  • Drive leadership development, coaching, mentoring and continuous learning.
  • Promote employee engagement, wellbeing and a positive organisational culture.
  • Conduct compensation and benefits benchmarking.
  • Use HR analytics, technology and Artificial Intelligence to support decision-making.
  • Support organisational development, transformation and change management.
  • Provide strategic HR advice and support to Management and staff.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Psychology or a related field.
  • Demonstrable understanding of strategic and operational HR management.
  • At least five years of progressive professional experience, including at least three years at supervisory or managerial level in human resource management.
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skills.
