Plant Metallurgist

Hwange Colliery Company Limited Holdings, a local diversified mid-tier organisation with investments in Mining, Real Estate, Health Care, Agriculture, Energy, and Financial Services has a vacancy under Hwange Mining and Processing Company Cokeworks and Gas Plant Section for a Plant Metallurgist. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the coke oven battery and by-products plants
• Monitor coal quality from various mines and recommend optimum blending ratios to ensure the production of coke quality that meets customer specifications
• Metallurgical accounting
• Develop and maintain process control strategies that enhance plant stability and performance
• Lead investigations into process upsets, production losses, quality deviations and equipment performance issues
• Lead plant improvements projects
• Compile and keep month-end and year-end sectional reports on plant throughput, efficiencies, utilization, availability and operational unit costs
• Collate sectional budget information and liaising with coking coal preparation sections
• Carry out safety, health and environmental inspections
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ standards and procedures and regulatory requirements
• Lead, manage and provide guidance in training operations teams to ensure efficient and effective operations

Requirements

• Good communication and organisational skills
• Minimum three (3) years proven experience
• Holder of at least Class 4 drivers licence
• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
