The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and strengthening financial performance, governance, and regulatory compliance.</p><h4>Key Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Providing strategic leadership for the finance function and contribute to corporate strategy, business planning, and performance management.</li><li>Leading budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis to support timely executive and Board decisions.</li><li>Providing financial advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer and colleagues to enable them to make sound business decisions.</li><li>Ensuring accurate reconciliation of accounts, including reinsurance recoverables, commission balances, and other related items.</li><li>Overseeing the preparation of accurate annual financial statements and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, insurance regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies</li><li>Coordinating the Internal &amp; External Audit process for the company and liaising with Auditors for timely execution of the processes</li><li>Managing capital, liquidity, cash flow, investments, and foreign-currency exposures in line with the company’s risk appetite and regulatory obligations.</li><li>Partnering with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and investment teams to assess portfolio performance, profitability, reserving impacts, and reinsurance results.</li><li>Assist in capital raising and strategic advisory projects.</li><li>Performa company and industry valuation</li><li>Prepare investment memorandums and client presentations</li><li>Preparing quarterly Financial Board packs and presentation of same to the respective Board sub-committees</li></ul><h4>Qualifications and Experience</h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, including a Master’s Degree</li><li>A recognized professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent</li><li>At least 5 years’ progressive finance experience including leadership role</li><li>Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or another regulated financial-services environment is strongly preferred.</li><li>Practical understanding of IFRS, including insurance-contract reporting requirements, will be an added advantage.</li><li>Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, underwriting processes, policy wording, and pricing.</li><li>Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, treasury, audit, risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance</li><li>Exposure to capital raising and management of investor relations is essential</li><li>Interested candidates should submit a detailed curriculum vitae and Certified copies of qualifications.</li></ul>","identifier":{"@type":"PropertyValue","name":"ipcjobs.org","value":"IPCJ-002425"},"datePosted":"2026-10-28","validThrough":"2026-11-11T21:59:59.000Z","employmentType":"FULL_TIME","hiringOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"A leading Harare human resources organisation"},"jobLocation":{"@type":"Place","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressLocality":"Harare","addressRegion":"Harare","addressCountry":"ZW"}},"directApply":true}
